CHRISTMAS WINDOW

This year we have kept to a simple red and white colour scheme for the One Craft Gallery's Christmas window.  The white stars are handmade by me and have a sparkle!  The large cardboard letters were painted white, and the white trees were left over from one of our members son's wedding! There are also transparent red dishes full of shiny red baubles, white twigs and fir cones.  In the other window we have a large branch of twisted willow mounted in a white box so that we can hang tree decorations that are for sale.

Christmas has arrived in Shepton!  The streetlights are in place as is a large tree in the Market Place.  This pic (top right) was taken before the big switch on of lights on this tree.  The middle pic on the left shows Kilver Court which is on the outskirts of the town.  It's lights look very classy!

The High Street is getting into full Christmas mode and it seems as though red and white is a popular colour choice this year!  The two montages above consist of photos taken on one of my early morning walks which are documented in my other blog - Walk the Talk!

GALLERY ON FACEBOOK

The One Craft Gallery, Shepton, has been on Facebook for some time now. Tina, one of our jewellers is responsible for updating with pics and news. She does a great job as I know how time consuming these things can be! As well as this blog I also share another one - Walk the Talk - with my friend Jenny.  I feel you need to update a blog as regularly as you can as long as you have something to interesting to share!

I personally do not like to see advertisements or blatant paid for endorsements on blogs.  Anything that is recommended on this blog is because I have bought, used or read it.  I always give my honest opinion without any outside influences.

BLOG UPDATE

Walk the Talk - the new blog that I have been writing with my friend and walking companion, Jenny, has been going for nearly 3 weeks now.  We have had lots of positive feedback and over 700 visits!  I thought I would share a few of my favourite photos.

These pictures were taken when we had a guest walker - Trevor, the miniature schnauzer.  He was a quite a handful and started off the walk looking very dapper (see him with Jenny, top left), but ended up looking rather wet and bedraggled, after going through the wet undergrowth!

Jenny used my camera to take this rather arty photograph of a mother duck with some of her ducklings at our local park.

This beautiful shetland pony took us by surprise.  We just saw him through a gap in the hedgerow on a footpath to the west of Shepton.

I have never seen a cow with two black eyes before, but there he was staring at me from over the main road, just a few minutes walk from my house!

WALK THE TALK

This is the header of my new blog - 'Walk the talk' - which I am doing as a joint venture with my walking companion, Jenny.  We have just gone live! We don't want this to be like some of the walking blogs we have read, that are all words and maps. This is much more informal and fun with photos, thoughts, information on what's in and around Shepton, inspiration for my art, keeping fit and more! We are taking it in turns to write the posts and it should develop as we go along. We want to encourage more people to go outside their front door and walk!

My artwork that is the basis for the header and colour scheme of the new blog.
