I was given an off cut piece of wood, (see left), by Neil Jackson, co-owner of the newly created Whyberd Gallery in nearby Evercreech. He asked me to transform it, without altering the shape. He liked the result and is going to wall mount it at an angle!
When I looked at the curvy shape, I immediately saw a bird. All that was needed was layers of paint, collage and the adding of an eye - a small wooden dome, with a hole in the middle, that I discovered in my button box...
I have a number of different artworks at Whyberd Gallery, including abstracts, collages, art cubes and cushions. It is a delightful gallery, with a teashop, and well worth a visit...
