Instead of the traditional Christmas tree, we have put up a large branch of twisted willow to hang the handmade decorations which are for sale. The bird (top right) is a Teddy Long Legs hanging. Tonight we have a late night opening as part of the Shepton Mallet Christmas gift trail. There is a visit from Father Christmas, live music, carols, roasted chestnuts and the switching on of the Christmas tree lights. This all happens just outside of our door!

BAH, HUMBUG!
The 'sweet ' celebratory theme has been used in the One Craft Gallery window display in the run-up to Christmas. The delightful 'Bah Humbug' cards are part of the work by the current guest artist, Suzanne Leather. She trades under the name of Teddy Long Legs and makes a a range of brooches, cards, hanging decorations and pictures, using a combination of machine embroidery and mono or lino printing. Suzanne often takes inspiration from the wildlife (especially birds), and countryside surrounding her Somerset studio. Below is a flavour of our window. The delicious hats, fascinators, hair slides and brooches are made by One Craft member, milliner Lizzie Oliva. The bowl of sweets on the right are brooches and not actually edible!
